Getting to Know You- Pumpkin Bread

For Christmas, I made some pumpkin bread and gave some to our neighbors and new friends. I am hoping these small gestures will help us be able to get to know them better. Plus, I really miss baking for people and this is a great excuse!

When Stephen and I got married, Stephen's grandma gave me a recipe book filled with their family recipes. The recipe I used for the pumpkin bread came from that book.

PUMPKIN BREAD
Ingredients:
3 cups sugar
1 cup oil
2/3 cup water
2 cups pumpkin
4 eggs
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
3 1/2 cups flour
1 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Beat eggs, sugar, and oil. Add water and pumpkin. Add dry ingredients. Fold in nuts. Bake in 4 (1 lb)  well greased and floured pans (I did 2 two lb pans). Bake at 350 for 1 hour.

Pretty easy and delicious!

How do you meet new people in your area? Are you coin anything for your neighbors this Christmas?

  1. What a lovely idea! We're glad you got home safely! We loved your newsletter, but the link for Farmington, didn't open. I thought you'd want to know, it didn't work for us anyway. :( Brenda
