Soccer Camp and Youth Nights

This last week a group has come down from Northern Ireland and has put on events for the youth here in this area & our church.

They have done a really great job. Stephen has helped out with their Soccer camps in the morning. They teach a Bible lesson and then they play soccer. They have gotten to know their teams pretty well throughout the week.

In the evenings they work with the youth from our church and some churches in other communities have come as well. On Thursday we had over 60 youth in our church. It was great to see. Everyone seemed to be having a great time as well. This group has done a really good job. They plan different fun activities for the youth to do.

One night we all painted, another night they had an Olympic's theme and split the youth up into different countries. They moved the youth to compete against each other in games such as Pyramid Racing (you have to get your team to make a human pyramid, and then crawl from one side of the room to another), Cracker Eating (eat as many crackers as you can), Round the Table Ping Pong (the players have to keep on moving around the Ping Pong table as they play), and all sorts of other games.

At some point in the night we all gather in the sanctuary to listen to a testimony of one of the team members. It has been nice that the people who have given their testimonies are the same age as some of our youth. I am hoping that it will encourage some of our youth to be more bold about their faith. Then we will sing a few songs together, lead by the team.

They have really done a great job. Please continue to pray for our youth, that they will not be ashamed of the gospel of Christ.
