Kids Club Christmas Party

Ok... I'm going to have to go back in time a little here, but I really didn't want to skip over telling you about our Kid's Club Christmas Party that we had on December 17th. This was our kickoff to our Kids Club that is going to start January 17th for 7-12 year olds. We had a few younger kids come to the party, but we all had a good time together. Here is what we did.

As the kids arrived, we had them look for little pieces of paper that either said "Shepherds" or "Wise Men". If they were on the Shepherds team they should only look for the "Shepherds" papers and leave the others alone. If they found one, then they were to yell "SHEPHERDS" and all of the kids on the shepherds team would sit on the floor in a line and row (like they were in a boat) for however many people were on their team. This worked great as the kids filtered in. Everyone seemed to be able to catch on quickly and enjoyed it. Ireland is not exactly a strict time-oriented culture, so we are planning on doing an activity as the kids show up for about 15 minutes after the club starts.

Next, we played.... CHUBBY BUNNY. Photobucket
Except we used pieces of fruitcake and had them say "Jingle Bells"- just to Christmas it up a bit. They loved it.

Next we had a Santa outfit relay. Photobucket
One of the teammates was to be dressed up as Santa while one at a time their teammates would run and retrieve the pieces of the outfit. The kids were so cute!!!

Then we had each team wrap up a present. And the present was one of their teammates! They did a great job.

Then... the only real chaotic part of the night happened. The kids "unwrapped" the presents. Photobucket

I was glad they all were alive and uninjured.

Stephen gave a short talk about Jesus and invited the kids to come back for the club. Then we had snack time, and they played charades while they waited for their parents to pick them up. We had 19 kids. 18 of them were boys! We are excited to start this ministry!
